How can the Energy transition profitable with a sustainable agricultural utilisation connect? This question was at the centre of the research project "Agricultural value of solar parks"which was developed by Dr Dina Hamidi (University of Göttingen) and Dr Christoph Hütt (University of Cologne). Answers to these and other questions are provided by the new research report to the project, the available from today is.
The report first provides information on Background and Need for research and shows why solar parks are equally relevant for the energy transition and agriculture. Subsequently, the central research questionsthat interdisciplinary team and the Experimental design including various solar parks, zones under and between the modules and reference areas.
One focus is on the Methodology: classic grassland surveys, soil sensors, feed and ingredient analyses are carried out with innovative 3D LiDAR scans which even cover the areas under the modules.
Finally, the current status of the ongoing analyses is outlined and the direction in which the scientific journey continues is shown - with an overview already published articles and a Outlook for upcoming publications. Ideal for anyone who wants to understand how Combining power generation, fodder production and biodiversity on the same area.

The Research results are published on 11 March 2026 as part of a Specialist conference in Berlin and via livestream presented, flanked by a versatile programme: One Panel discussion with experts from agriculture, the energy industry and nature conservation, as well as inspiring lectures on topics such as microclimate, ecosystem services and regulations. The Event will be recorded and then to SonneSammeln made available.
