The inauguration ceremony of the Vattenfall Agri-PV plant in Tützpatz on 10 September 2025 marked the official start of a project that Power generation with agricultural utilisation on an area of around 93 hectares connects. In the presence of representatives from the world of politics, PressThe system was presented to the Board of Management, business and agriculture and initial practical experience from the Interaction between photovoltaics, arable farming and animal husbandry discussed.

Special features of the Agri-PV system

The plant in Tützpatz, Mecklenburg, is equipped with 76 MWp nominal output and 146,000 solar modules on an area of 93 hectares is currently the largest agri-photovoltaic plant in Germany. The combination of electricity generation with active agricultural use is outstanding: part of the area is used for keeping up to 15,000 chickens The modules are mounted particularly high and steeply for this purpose. On the other sections, arable farming is carried out using Track systems This allows the flexible use of agricultural machinery.

Expectations and insights

The pioneering project is expected to Important impulses for practice of dual land utilisation and the economic operation of large agri-PV parks without state subsidies. The focus is particularly on:

  • Long-term climate-friendly electricity procurement through PPA with a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom for approx. 4,600 mobile radio sites
  • Protection and promotion of agricultural production despite energy use, e.g. Advantages for modern crop rotations and chicken farming
  • Practical findings on the interaction of Solar technology and biodiversityland management and economic models for farmers and investors.

We are looking forward to the scientific monitoring and the first practical experiences of this flagship project in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
