Kühnhausen solar park
ENERPARC AG's Kühnhausen solar park is located in the Franconian Alb 200 metres east of the village of Kühnhausen. It has a total area of 13.53 hectares and was put into operation in April 2019 (first construction phase) and January 2020 (second construction phase). Special features include the hillside location, the relatively narrow row spacing of 2.3 to 2.4 metres and a public gravel path that divides the site into two parts; a smaller part to the north of the path and a large part to the south.

Natural environment and special features
Franconian Alb
The site is surrounded by mixed woodland. Farmland only extends along the southern part of the plant. Directly to the north is a strip of grassland around 30 metres wide, which borders directly on the solar park. Further north is a lime mining area. The US military training area Hohenfels is also around two kilometres away.
The highest point is 542 metres above sea level in the north-east of the site. It drops to 495 metres above sea level in a south-westerly direction.
Agricultural area, not mapped. There are biotopes within the planning area that will be preserved (groves near Hörmannsdorf).
Floor
West of the site: Brown earth and terra fusca made from the products of limestone, marl and dolomite weathering and rendzina made from limestone; east of the site: Rendzina / brown earth-rendzina / pararendzina made from slope debris over limestone, marl and dolomite alternating with shallow brown earth over terra fusca / terra fusca-parabrown earth made from silty-clayey products of limestone weathering.

Management
The Kühnhausen solar park is grazed. The site is divided into sub-areas, each of which is subjected to impact grazing.
Equalisation measures
The following compensatory measures were implemented in Kühnhausen:
- Planting measures
- Extensive grassland development through self-vegetation
- Compensation areas in the immediate vicinity of the plant
Details can be found in the development plan.
