Maßbach solar park
The Maßbach solar park operated by EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG is located around 500 metres north-west of the northern Bavarian town of Maßbach. The plant was commissioned in 2020 and covers an area of 43.5 hectares. The individual parts of the plant are designed differently, but are all characterised by frequently wide module row spacing. The western, flat parts of the plant are heavily dominated by grasses on larger areas, even between the rows of modules. The eastern plant sections are all south-facing.

Natural environment and special features
Main-Franconian plates
The site is surrounded by agricultural landscape and mixed woodland. The agricultural crops consist mainly of cereals. Various biotopes and structures, such as hedges, farm tracks or grassland strips, are located between the respective sub-areas. There is a farm in the centre of the sub-areas, which is responsible for mowing the PV system, among other things.
The Maßbach solar park is located at around 360 metres above sea level on an elevation and has its highest point in the eastern part of the plant.

The frames are anchored to the ground by means of driven posts without additional struts.
Monofacial modules were installed.
Gravel paths were laid in the area.
The row spacing in the system varies greatly from 2.6 to 10.77 metres.
Management
It is mown once or twice a year or can be grazed.
Other maintenance measures specifically include the woodland plantations and tall herbaceous meadows (including only annual mowing with removal of the mown material).
Equalisation measures
Among other things, the following compensatory measures were implemented:
- Tall herbaceous meadows with selective woodland planting at the edge of the site (2 ha)
- Creation of hedge structures (2 rows) with a pronounced fringe (0.3 ha)
- Creation of a meadow orchard (1.1 ha)
- Establishment of extensive grassland (1 ha)
